Your Lotion Is Making You Sick

Why I Created The Moisture Collective

I started The Moisture Collective out of necessity. My daughter’s skin was constantly breaking out, and after trying countless store-bought lotions and so-called "organic" alternatives, nothing worked. I was frustrated, confused, and desperate for a solution.

What I discovered through research was eye-opening: the real problem lies in the ingredients and preservatives used in most commercial and even “natural” skincare products. While these products may temporarily soothe the skin, they often contain preservatives designed to kill bacteria. The issue? Your skin needs beneficial bacteria to stay healthy. When these preservatives wipe out everything on the surface of your skin, it can lead to even drier, more irritated skin—creating a vicious cycle where you constantly need more lotion, but nothing seems to help.

To make matters worse, many preservatives—like parabens—are linked to serious health concerns, including hormone disruption and other illnesses. It was clear that what was meant to protect and preserve our skin was actually doing the opposite. That’s when I decided to take matters into my own hands and create something better.

Enter The Moisture Collective.

Our skincare line is a celebration of natural, nourishing ingredients, free from preservatives and harmful chemicals. At the heart of our collection is our Organic Whipped Shea Butter, made from the finest, unrefined shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, and natural fragrances. It’s the perfect, holistic alternative to mineral oils, petroleum-based products, and paraben-filled lotions.

Why Shea Butter?

Shea butter is nothing short of a miracle. Used for centuries in Africa to protect skin from the harsh elements—sun, wind, heat, and salt water—this incredible ingredient has powerful healing properties. Here’s why we swear by it:

  • Stimulates collagen production – helping to keep your skin youthful and resilient
  • Reduces wrinkles, scars, and burns – an amazing natural healer
  • Anti-inflammatory – Shea butter has been studied as an effective anti-inflammatory, calming irritated skin
  • Natural sunscreen – The cinnamic acid in shea butter provides a mild SPF-6 protection

By choosing The Moisture Collective, you’re not just nourishing your skin—you’re giving it what it needs to thrive: healthy, natural ingredients without the harmful chemicals that do more harm than good.
