Sundiata Dashiki

$50

The Sundiata Dashiki signifies power and influence and is inspired by traditional motifs of Malian Mudcloth. Prince Sundiata Keita was the founder of the Mali Empire in West Africa. He is also the great uncle of the Malian ruler Mansa Musa, known for being the wealthiest person of all time. Sundiata rose to power in the 13th century and during his reign, Mali first began to become an economic power through military conquests, agriculture, and controlling the region's trade routes and gold fields.

This traditional motif Dashiki has intricate chain stitch embroidery around the collar, the front, and detailing along the edges and pocket. Pairs well with jeans or slacks for a more formal look. There is one pocket on the front chest.
